phones and other miscellany
i just switched my cell phone plan to the better. i was paying $34.99/mo. for 200 anytime and 3300 nighs and weekends. now, i'm paying $30/mo. for 300 anytime and unlimited nights and weekends. unlimited. sweeter deal... deserves another 1 year agreement. i dunno why some people don't like sprint's network. i've never had problems, and my samsung 8500 rocks.

i was in ann arbor all last week. i had a good time, visiting friends and what not. i actually finished filling out my graduate school applications and writing the customized versions of my personal statement (well, not really... i still have MIT to do, and then, i have to physically send out my personal statements). i should have the whole kit and kaboodle done within a few weeks. basically, i'm waiting for my recommenders to get back some of the letters i need to receive, and then i can send the whole application package as one big thing.

interesting thing: since carnegie mellon doesn't have an online application system, i've actually decided not to apply there. it's just a pain in the butt to deal w/ paper anymore. i totally love MIT's application, which is entirely online. even the recommenders get an online method to supply their letters.

kaplan job
i'm starting to train tomorrow. i got picked up last week, and now i'm actually going to be working. $7/hr while training and nowhere but up to move in the payscale. money will be terribly cool to have again.

i've also decided to tutor a kid for english. i'm not exactly sure of what him and his parents want, so i'm actually going to approach this professionally and talk to his teachers and things like that. coolness... and if you got the irony in the prepositional phrase in the second second sentence of this paragraph, then i hope my "(sic)" merits found a smile on your face.
