had quite a nice break. really enjoyed relaxing like most of you guys out there. did the whole home thing for christmas, and for new years, i went to chicago to hang out at maun's with a few of our friends. good stuff... altho a lil on the 5th wheel vibe from the get go. what can you do.

i learned how to stack clay chips while throwing down some coin for poker. i'm too competitive... and so are some of my friends (sang). i think i'm going to lay off the game for a bit. what happened to just playing for the hell of it?

a new, old semester. i'm already feeling like i did in my junior, senior, super senior semesters as an undergrad: i want out. i think i need a scenery change. for real.

classes this semester are looking to be interesting. i'm taking "network theory" taught by mark newman. what's interesting about this course is that there's some profs sitting in on it. i've never taken a course where profs are there to learn the material as well. it could be tough, but i'll get it done.

my other classes seem difficult as well, not in terms of the material, but in terms of being motivated to keep up with the workload. "design and analysis of alogrithms" and "computational modeling of cognition" each require gobs of weekly time. one for readings and quizes and the other for very difficult problem sets, respectively. again, tough, but i'll get it done.
