chicago
lessee....
i just got back from chicago, where i think my interview with tallan went well. i made 1 stupid error on the easiest pseudo code question, but i managed to get the rest right. also, one of the was pretty unelegant, but oh well. i zipped over my references and mileage, and now i just wait for the reply. oh, how i hate the wait.
it was fun hanging w/ maun at his fat crib. pretty spiffy digs north of the heart of the city. great bars near by, and even better waitresses to say a few words while serving you your beverage of choice. sammy a specials are good to, since the asking price will just set you back a couple singles for 16oz. of culture. but in general, the city loves food, and i love the city for loving the food. i think that most restaurants out there think that the average person weighs damn near 200 lbs. since their portions are so freaking generous. literally freaking generous. i ate a lamb piled on a pita bread and they called it a gyro. that's sweet.
also hung out w/ kyle at his house and met his family and stuff. hung w/ jane down in u chicago. kinda wished i had more time to go sightseeing and stuff. kyle looked pretty tired but still chilled, and jane showed me around the uc campus. again, fun stuff.
next time i'm over in chicago, i have to visit minh and stay with maun again (but i have to do something about parking).
my grad apps are kinda on the backburner b/c of all this interviewing stuff. but i HAVE to continue and persist.
in other news
my cell fone reception is awesome at my house now. full four bars. i just woke up, and it's like BAMN. go sprint pcs. so if you have my 616 cell #, the fone will be near me now. life is good.
also, i ordered a gamecube. super monkey ball is the primary reason, and madden 2k3 is another.... then zelda... then robotech... then metroid... fun little machine that you can bring around everywhere. plus i think i've done enuf research like i told myself i would do before buying the nextgen systems. hands down, a nice piece of tech.
