// advisor
so yeah... i've decided to commit to prof. lewis and help him get his research program @ michigan started. i kinda feel like i don't want anything to do with psychology right now b/c i was rejected by them... meh. gotta be professional.

right now, he wants me to help him get the new eye tracking system up for various experiments for his own research and some joint research with roger remington from ames. everything is all very interesting, but what's even more interesting is that i can possibly develop some learning theories with this thing since many subjects perform the task over hundreds of trials. definately some learning effects. empirical evidence, here we come.

in addition to prof. lewis, i'm probably going to ask prof. radev if i could help out with his research, too. prof. radev does natural language processing work, where "classification" abounds (e.g. parsing). he said he's been focusing on stochastic approaches to parsing recently, which is right up my alley.

// homework
homework's tough. 501 and 587 homework all in one week is killer. killer.
